Solid day of tennis at sections; Raddohl / Barbosa move on to semis

Friday proved to be a solid day of tennis for the TG Eagles in the Section 6A Individual tournament at PIT. Junior Bennett Bednarczyk and sophomore Luke Brandt, playing less than 3 singles matches this year, both took on opponents from Pine City. And they contested every point before the experience of the Dragons took hold, defeating the Eagles in straight sets.
Senior Matthew Livermont and freshman Eli Dunn teamed at doubles and took on the fourth seed, also from Pine City. A break of serve in each set proved to be the difference as Pine City prevailed in straight sets.
Sophomores Aidan Raddohl and Gustavo Faleiros Barbosa, seeded third, dropped only two games in two matches to advance to the semi-finals on Tuesday (5/28). The semi-finals and finals will be played indoors at the Rogers Tennis Club. Here are the details:

Court 4 – Berglund/Berube (Pine City) vs. Raddohl/Faleiros-Barbosa (Totino Grace)
Finals
Court 1 – Singles 3rd Place Match
Court 2 – Singles Championship Match
Court 3 – Doubles Championship Match
Court 4 – Doubles 3rd Place Match
The finals for both singles and doubles will start roughly 30-40 minutes after the completion of the semifinal round. This may change if either singles match goes three sets and lasts over 2 hours.
Awards:
Medals for 1st-4th place will be awarded to all players participating on Tuesday.
